Bread machine dough but regular oven baking makes short work of a wonderful little rye bread. Dark rye is also known as pumpernickle flour. You can also use light or medium rye. The 'light' in this recipe refers to a lighter rye bread (not heavy, dense and rustic - more 'deli' style rye sandwich bread). If you choose, make this using the regular method of bread (dough hook and kneading) instead of a bread machine. This is the bread that is the foundation for the PamPam's Hungarian Sandwich.
