A funny thing happened on the way to making my regular chocolate chip cookie better: I seemed to have invented McDonalds Chocolate Chip Cookies. The only thing missing is the little box they used to come in. This really authentic replication calls for shortening but I prefer butter. If you use the shortening, us the new no trans fatty acid type by Crisco. It's up to you.More authentic? Use artificial vanilla and last, for more chewy, add in 1 tablespoon clear corn syrup. Kid approved, adult indulged cookies.
